Building new
Custom homes and rebuilds on the South Shore
Whether you own a vacant lot or a house that costs more to fix than to replace, a new build starts with the same questions: what the lot allows, what the soil and septic can support, and what the energy code in your town now requires.
We handle the build from site work to certificate of occupancy, working from your architect’s plans or with our designer.

FAQ
New Construction: questions homeowners ask
How long does it take to build a new home on the South Shore?
Typically 8–14 months of construction after permits, plus 2–4 months of design and permitting beforehand.
Do you work with my architect?
Yes. We can also provide design through our own designer for more straightforward homes.
Is it better to renovate or tear down and rebuild?
If the foundation, structure and systems all need major work, rebuilding is often comparable in cost and gives you a modern, efficient house. We will give you an honest comparison.
What energy code applies?
Most South Shore towns use the Massachusetts Stretch Energy Code; some have adopted the Specialized Code. Both require high insulation levels, air sealing and HERS testing.
